Skin Value Spread Calculator

Put Steam or community value, nominal site credit and obtainable cash value on the same sheet. The calculator exposes where a deposit quote or withdrawal item changes the value—not whether a transaction will succeed.

Values stay in this tab. Analytics records only that the tool was used, never the numbers entered.

Round-trip estimates scale the withdrawal quote to all deposited credit. This assumes the same conversion rate remains available, divisible value and no extra fees; individual items may not be divisible.

Worked example · hypothetical inputs

A 10% deposit spread can hide a 20% cash loss

A skin listed at 100 community units is worth 80 in cash and receives 90 site credits. A withdrawal costing 45 credits returns an item worth 32 in cash.

Deposit spread: 1 − 90 ÷ 100 = 10%. At the same withdrawal rate, 90 credits return 64 cash units: 80% retained, or 20 lost per 100 starting cash units. This assumes all credit can be redeemed at the quoted rate, with no extra fees.

Formulas and interpretation

Deposit spread1 − site credit ÷ community value

Cash-adjusted deposit spread1 − site credit ÷ external cash value

Withdrawal spread1 − withdrawal cash value ÷ withdrawal credit cost

Round-trip retained(site credit received ÷ withdrawal credit cost) × withdrawal cash value ÷ starting external cash value

A positive spread means the entered result is below its comparison baseline. A negative spread means it is above that baseline. Site credits are nominal units, so comparisons are meaningful only when the numbers use the same currency and you understand the platform’s conversion rules.

What this calculator cannot establish

It does not check current inventory, fees, KYC, trade holds, price movement, account restrictions, legality or successful withdrawal. A quote can change between the deposit screen and settlement. Verify the exact Steam offer recipient and the operator’s current rules before transferring an item.
