CS2 Case Opening Sites: Odds, Fairness & Skin Withdrawals
A case animation does not reveal expected value. Compare the complete item probability table, the value assigned to each outcome, the verifier inputs and what happens when the displayed skin is not withdrawable.
Updated : added narrow official-source observations for Clash settlement and upgrader documentation, and CSGOEmpire's published coinflip fee. No operator transaction tests were added.
Evidence-led answer
Prefer a case site that publishes a complete probability table and a reproducible completed-round record. In this release, operator-level evidence is stronger than mode-specific economics: missing case RTP and replacement-stock rules remain unknown rather than estimated.

Read the whole payout table
A case costs 10. If the complete table gives an 80% chance of a cash value of 2 and a 20% chance of 30, expected cash value is 0.8 × 2 + 0.2 × 30 = 7.60. Expected loss is 2.40 per case before additional fees.
Probabilities must sum to 100%. Use obtainable cash prices for every outcome and check whether prizes become inventory or site credit. Expected value is a long-run mathematical average, not a prediction for one opening.

- A complete item probability and valuation table is still needed to calculate the return of a particular case. The FAQ's game-edge heading alone does not establish a numeric case RTP.

- Clash says case winnings convert to balance rather than an onsite inventory; that balance can be used for items in its store.
- What remains unresolved
- Exact replacement inventory, obtainable cash value and successful skin delivery were not established. This is an official-policy observation, not a transaction test.

Economics to calculate
Case expected value is the sum of each item value multiplied by its probability. The result changes when the site values skins above obtainable cash prices, or when inventory forces a balance conversion. A published chance table is necessary for calculation but does not prove the quoted item values are cash-equivalent.
What a verifier cannot prove
A hash and seed can show that a completed random result follows the published algorithm. It cannot establish that the item values were fair, the case table stayed unchanged before play, the displayed item was in stock, or a withdrawal succeeded.
Custody and settlement
Check whether the outcome remains a virtual balance, becomes a bot-held item, can be sold back, or can be replaced when exact inventory is unavailable. The custody and settlement rules affect realized value after the game result.
Evidence boundary
The directory uses published profile game lists and current official-source coverage. It is not a personal-use, deposit, wager, KYC or withdrawal test. “Not publicly verified” means this release does not hold the evidence needed to make the claim; it is not an allegation about the operator. Mode-source hashes identify the URL, observation date and normalized research note, not an archived copy of the remote page.
CS2 case opening questions
What makes a CS2 case opening site transparent?
A complete odds table, dated case contents, pre-play commitment, completed-round verification, clear item valuation and documented withdrawal treatment answer different parts of the question.
Are case battles the same as case opening?
No. A battle adds opponent allocation, winner rules, ties and alternative modes on top of the underlying case probabilities.
Does a provably fair case guarantee the skin shown?
No. It can verify selection under a published algorithm; inventory, settlement, KYC and withdrawal remain separate.
