How to check a provably fair skin-gambling round

A provably fair claim is useful only when you can reproduce the relevant result from the published inputs and rules. A matching calculation supports that specific result. It does not establish the operator’s reserves, your account eligibility or whether a withdrawal will arrive.

What you need before checking

For a seed-based commit-and-reveal system, retain the server-seed commitment shown before the round, your client seed, the round counter (often called a nonce), and the game’s algorithm. After the server seed is revealed, compare its hash with the saved commitment and calculate the outcome using the same inputs. Other systems may use a public future event; follow the rules for that exact game.

1. Identify the game and rules version. A roulette verifier does not establish how a case battle settles.
2. Check the commitment. A hash first obtained after the result cannot establish what was committed beforehand.
3. Reproduce the output. Confirm input order, nonce, encoding and the conversion from random output to a result.
4. Check the payout mapping. A correctly generated random number can still map to an unfavourable payout table.
5. Keep the record. Save the round ID, inputs, rules link and any mismatch. Missing inputs mean the round remains unverified.

Randomness and value are different questions

Hypothetical example: a game with a 50% win chance and a gross return of 1.9 times the stake has an expected return of 0.5 × 1.9 = 0.95 per unit staked. Reproducing every result would not remove that 5% expected loss. This example is not a finding about a listed operator.

What a successful check leaves unresolved
